21. Is FFI an early alpha generator?
An early alpha generator is a young firm, often several years old. It manages portfolio(s) that have high alphas, a statistical measure of stock selections in a portfolio, which usually accompanies a higher investment return. Research shows that early alpha generators often outperform older peers, perhaps because of increased focus of new firms or because it is more difficult to manage larger assets. The alphas of FFI generally exceed 15, 2-3 times the level of most portfolios.
